Terms & Conditions
The agreement between you and Cohestra when you buy a course or join the school. We’ve written it to be read — plain enough to understand, precise enough to rely on.

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Cohestra Learning, LLC governing your use of cohestra.com, our courses, and our membership. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use our services.
Agreement to these terms
By creating an account, buying a course, joining a membership, or otherwise using our services, you confirm that you accept these Terms and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement. If you’re using Cohestra on behalf of an organization, you confirm you’re authorized to bind that organization, and “you” refers to it.
Definitions
“Course” — any of our structured programs (Foundations of Taste, The Working Designer, Direction), including its lessons, briefs, and worksheets.
“Membership” — a recurring subscription (Guided or Mentored) giving access to all Courses plus the human review described in Section 4.
“One-time purchase” — buying a single Course outright for permanent access, without a subscription.
“Content” — all materials we provide: lessons, videos, briefs, worksheets, and written feedback.
“Your Work” — homework, portfolio pieces, and other materials you submit for critique.
Eligibility & your account
You must be at least 18 years old to use Cohestra. You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Accounts are personal to you and may not be shared, resold, or transferred. Tell us promptly at support@cohestra.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
What we provide
What you receive depends on how you buy:
One-time purchase — permanent access to the Course you buy, including future updates to it. No curator reviews, live critiques, or 1:1 sessions are included.
Guided membership — access to all Courses while your subscription is active, plus written curator review of every submission and weekly live critiques.
Mentored membership — everything in Guided, plus two 45-minute 1:1 sessions per month with Mara, subject to availability, and priority reviews.
Payment & billing
Prices are shown at checkout in the currency stated and may include applicable taxes. We may change prices, but changes won’t affect a one-time purchase already made or the current term of an active subscription.
Memberships renew automatically each billing period (monthly or annually) until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on each renewal.
Installments — where a Course is offered in installments, you authorize the full schedule of charges; missing a payment may pause access until it’s resolved.
Failed payments — if a charge fails, we may retry it and suspend access until payment succeeds.
Cancellation & refunds
We aim to be fair and unambiguous here:
One-time purchases — refundable in full within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked. After 14 days, purchases are non-refundable because access is permanent and immediate.
Memberships — your first 14 days are refundable in full. After that, you can cancel anytime in one click; access continues until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and we don’t refund partial periods, because the curator’s time is committed in advance.
Pausing — members may pause a subscription for up to three months per year without losing progress.
Where mandatory consumer law in your country gives you stronger cancellation rights, those rights apply and override the above.
Course conduct
Cohestra runs on honest critique, which only works in a respectful room. When using our services — especially in live critiques and community spaces — you agree not to:
Harass, demean, or discriminate against other members, curators, or staff.
Share other members’ work or feedback outside Cohestra without their permission.
Submit work that isn’t yours to submit, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
Copy, record, redistribute, or resell our Content, or share your account access.
Disrupt, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform.
Serious or repeated breaches may lead to suspension or termination under Section 14.
Our intellectual property
All Content, along with the Cohestra name, logo, and platform, is owned by Cohestra Learning, LLC or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. When you buy a Course or hold a membership, we grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access and use the Content for your own learning — nothing more. You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly share, or create derivative commercial works from our Content without our written permission.
Your work & the license you grant
You keep all ownership of Your Work — it’s yours, and it stays yours. To run the critique, you grant Cohestra a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store Your Work, show it to your assigned curator and, in group critiques, to your cohort, purely for the purpose of teaching you.
We will not use Your Work in marketing, promotion, or as a public teaching example without your specific, separate written permission. You’re responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit whatever you upload.
